FAQs

Below you will find a compilation of our most frequently asked questions. If you do not see an answer to your question below, feel free to contact us at metrobarkbakery@gmail.com.

Q: Is that chocolate on your dog treats?
A: NO! Chocolate is toxic for dogs. You are either seeing carob chips, almond bark, or peanut butter.

Q: My dog has an allergy. How do you ensure that my custom-ordered treats will not be contaminated by traces of the ingredients that he/she is allergic to?
A: The well-being of our customers (especially the furry ones) is our biggest concern! We take extensive measures in order to ensure that there is no cross-contamination of allergenic ingredients. All baking supplies, counters, etc. are thoroughly disinfected between the baking of each batch of treats.

Q: What is the best way to store my treats? How long will they last?
A: Since MetroBark Bakery’s treats are fresh-baked and preservative-free, we recommend keeping them in the refrigerator or the freezer. If you keep treats on your counter, they will probably only last 3-5 days. However, most treats can last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator or 3 months in the freezer. You can bring frozen treats to room temperature by letting them sit for a few minutes, or serve them to your dog frozen– either way they will be delicious!

Q: How soon after placing my order are my treats baked?
A: Orders are guaranteed to be baked and shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment.

Q: Do you have a brick-and-mortar location?
A: At this time, MetroBark Bakery does not have a physical store location. However, you may spot us vending at various events around the DC Metro area!

Q: My dog loves your treats! Could I have your recipes?
A: MetroBark Bakery does not share recipes at this time.

Q: Why can you only ship to DC, VA, and Maryland?
A:  MetroBark Bakery is committed to providing customers with fresh high-quality gourmet dog treats. At this time, we cannot ensure that products shipped further than DC, VA, or MD will be able to uphold the standard of quality that we strive to maintain. Stay tuned for possible shipping expansions in the future!

Q: I live in the DC Metro area and I want to arrange to pick up my treats so I don’t have to pay for shipping. Is this possible?
A: Yes! Just include a note with your order stating that you prefer pick-up, and we will work out a plan to get your treats in your hands!

Q: I’m interested in selling MetroBark Bakery products in my pet store/boutique/etc.
A: Let’s talk! Feel free to send us an email at metrobarkbakery@gmail.com.
